Until recently worked Saif Awad a day job as an account manager for Cisco.
But since Saturday, he started volunteering in the night, protecting his neighborhood with a voluntary defense troop of young men armed with makeshift weapons neighbors. Last night he was armed with a big stick. Sunday, cans of gasoline purchased Awad and began making Molotov cocktails.
"If someone comes to the way we're going to throw at them," said Awad. "And I have a friend here who has a gun."
Shortly before he spoke by phone Sunday night with CNN, Awad said he and his companions frightened a group of men who attempted to scale the walls of his prestigious gated residential community.
