NYT: You Can Use Our Free Site For Twitter, It becomes more evident every day that the New York Times did not even know quite what to make of his own paywall. It is to let people see the articles for free if they come from elsewhere, especially Twitter. The idea, of course, is that they want to encourage people to share stories and visit. But apparently there are limits to how they want to share things. Specifically, the New York Times asked to block a Twitter user account called @ FreeNYTimes, who used his own NYT Twitter API for each topic. Of course this is true meaning. NYT itself, already does. But then what? If this brings more people to read the site, is it really a big problem? The NYT, of course, say that's about the "mark" problem, but it's really a "use in commerce"? And indeed, once again, so what? How does this matter? If you do not connect as they accept YLE tweet, Twitter is asked to close down? Maybe people should focus on NOW, providing more value to people, and not worry about things like this.
