Back riding motor M1 since becoming world champion MotoGP in Sepang, Malaysia, last week, Lorenzo successfully defended his best performance in the first MotoGP free practice in Australia.
With a record time of 1 minute 41.146 seconds, Lorenzo became the fastest duo in front of Ducati's Casey Stoner and Nicky Hayden. In fact, the practice was delayed nearly two hours due to bad weather. Standing water and high winds also occurred during the exercise lasted.
